Committee Responsibilities:

The Nominating Committee nominates at least one candidate for each position for which an election is to be held at the next Annual Meeting. It provides a written report on the slate of nominees to be included in the section newsletter announcing the Annual Meeting. Appointed members serve a two-year term with the second year as chair.

Committee Responsibilities:

The Program Committee arranges, in cooperation with the Executive Committee, suitable programs for presentation at the Annual and Fall Meetings. Members are elected to three-year terms. The chair of the Program Committee is the member completing the third year on the committee and is also a Section officer.

Committee Responsibilities:

The Teaching Award Committee requests and reviews nominations for the Ohio Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics. Members select a recipient of this award each year and make the presentation at the Annual Meeting in the year that they receive it. The Teaching Award Committee may also solicit nominations for other MAA teaching awards, such as the Henry L. Alder Award. Members are typically the most recent teaching award recipients and serve for two years.

Committee Responsibilities:

The primary duty of the Ohio NExT Organizing Committee is organizing and overseeing activities of the Section that are specifically to serve faculty members who are new to the Section. Currently, the committee arranges Ohio NExT programs in conjunction with the Annual and Fall meetings and maintains correspondence among NExT participants. Members are appointed to three-year terms.
